Website visits

The web server records requests for operation and troubleshooting. Records can include an IP address, requested address, time, response status, referring page and browser information. Search terms may appear in requested addresses. Do not enter personal or confidential information in the search box.

Cookies and accounts

Reading public pages does not require a Romzip account. WordPress uses cookies for administrator login and session security. Public registration and public comments are disabled. No advertising, third-party analytics or social tracking scripts are used on this site.

External downloads

Manufacturer pages and download hosts are separate websites. When you follow an external link, that service receives your request and applies its own privacy policy and terms. Review those policies before downloading software or signing in.

Retention and updates

Operational logs rotate and are retained for up to 14 rotated files plus the current file. Daily local backups retain the seven most recent successful sets. We may update this policy when website features or data handling change.

Download-button statistics

Using a download button sends a request to Romzip and opens an external firmware page. Valid button presses are counted by Romzip; navigation still works without JavaScript. The plugin uses the date, network address and browser string to create a keyed daily hash for approximate deduplication; it does not store the raw address or browser string in its statistics tables and sets no click-tracking cookie. Repeated clicks within ten seconds, editor clicks and obvious automated clients are excluded where detectable.

Daily hashes are removed after two days during daily cleanup. Per-post daily totals are kept for up to 365 days. Daily unique counts are estimates and can include or combine multiple people; they do not measure completed downloads. Server request logs and backups retain data separately as described above.
